Kidney Transplant

Any disease is bad but kidney disease is such where your life can get ruined unless one is aware of what the latest is on and how one can lead to a normal life.

I was detected of kidney problem in October 2008 when my creatinine was 2.5 and urea 220.

I visited B L Kapoor Hospital in 2008 and was initially treated by Dr.Deepak Jain-the treatment continued for good 4 years but to our Indian mentality and our society I got into other sources of treatment (ayurvedic and homeopathy)- which was a major blunder on my part. My creatine which was maintained around 5 suddenly shooted to 14.4 on 25th July 2012.

I was admitted to BL Kapoor hospital in an emergency and was immediately put on dialysis-that was the start of a nightmare in my/our life. I and my family suffered financially and mentally.

Hell of my life started for 4 hours of dialysis we used to leave the house 2 hours before and at least 1.5 hours after the dialysis to reach back home-though Mr.Yadav (dialysis room in charge) and the staff was excellent and cooperative.

Once on dialysis(initially twice a week and later thrice a week) every patient there were visited by Dr.Sunil Prakash, Dr.Ashwini Goel, and Dr.Jaidev.

At least I and my wife (who always used to be with me) suffered a lot, our family life was totally disturbed). All these months, till I had a kidney transplant on 7th May 2013-we, were always consoled/educated by Dr.Sunil Prakash and Dr.Ashwini Goel and they used to mentally prepare us for a transplant which definitely would ensure us for a better life.

The d’day came-i got a call on 6.7.13 at 1 pm that there is a cadaveric case(accidental) and was asked if interested should report immediately for further check and match as the case was for B+ patients.

All tests were done and as time passed so fast that around 2200hrs we came to know that other two patients who were in the queue with me have backed out of surgery and as the time approached midnight same thing was with me to back out because of mental fear of surgery. BUT all this time I was being consoled sincerely with true spirit by my wife, children, brother and not the least by Dr.Rana, Dr. Sunil Prakash and Dr.Ashwini Goel.

Finally, I agreed and my good time started from then.

It is now more than 2yrs and 4 months of my transplant and with constant check-ups with Dr.Sunil Parkash and Dr.Ashwini Goel, I am doing fine and living a normal life.

I WOULD LIKE TO SINCERELY THANK THE ENTIRE NEPHROLOGY AND UROLOGY TEAM LED BY DR.SUNIL PRAKASH/DR. ASHWINI GOEL/DR.PRADHAN AND DR.RANA AND MY FAMILY.

A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO THE FAMILY WHO TOOK DECISION TO DONATE ORGANS OF THEIR DECEASED FAMILY MEMBER AND SAVED MANY LIVES. WE HAVE TO BE AWARE TO RECYCLE OUR LIFE AND DONATE ORGANS TO SAVE LIVES.
